Redirect to Windows VM USB printer

I have a laserjet USB printer that is connected directly to my ESXi 4.0 host.  I would like to redirect this USB device directly to one of my virtual servers Windows residing on this host.  It doesn't seem to work by nature.  How can I make this work?

Thank you!

Dave

USB transfer is supported with ESXi 4.1.  Have you upgraded or you are still running 4.0?

    Hi all

just bought 4 T510 Flexible thin client. I have attached USB printer (Brother HL-2040 or a Brother HL-2130), but it does not redirect on the RDP session.

I tried everything, to my knowledge, but without success. In the options of the Windows driver, I wrote EXACTLY the side server name of the printer (which is actually the same name identified by the customer).

I noticed in the information system that the RDP version is rdp is 1.6.0 - 1.45...

    I thank in advance.

I have the same problem but I managed to solve.
I bought 10 of these T510 terminals, but with the same result on 3 different Windows Server 2008 R2 Terminal different (updated to the latest patch).
Only one of these terminals sold the year before worked and so I checked the version of the software.
By installing the old version of the terminals intelligent Zero Client the new T510 work with my printer in the Terminal Server session.
    New version does not work!

I tried everything... this add features such as storage of the password, the support for the speed, etc... etc..., but the printer no longer works!
I think that the change in the Protocol version RPD to give me problems.
Now I have one here in the office with which I am trying to understand if I can solve the problem with the latest versions of the software that I could use.
We install the Smart Core zero Image Z6X41019 Rev 1 (March 7, 2012) and it should work.
PS, You must put the printer in T510 in the driver entry not working also the exact name of the driver that you see in Windows.

  • How can I connect a USB printer to Windows prompt automatically?

    What I have:

    HOST: OS X 10.9.3

    CLIENT: Windows 7 Pro x 64

    VMWare Fusion 6.0.4

Goal: Have the USB printer works both host and guest operating system

    What I've done so far:

As redirection via VMWare did not work (redirect almost never done) what I did install NIC for windows in bridged mode and assign a static IP address. I selected for the USB printer be connected to Windows. In Windows I shared the printer and then in OS X connected to it. Printer prints very well two operating systems as you wish.

    Problem:

If I turned off the virtual Windows machine then power on and it back on the printer does not reconnect automatically. In the "devices and printers" window of Windows, it shows as grayed out. I have to manually click Vitural Machine, USB and Bluetooth, < printer > connection. Once I did, it immediately connects and works correctly. Really want to make connection happen automatically when the virtual machine is turned on, but so far have not found a way to do it.

    Thank you

Try Apple Hello Technique. It still works. Check that the USB printer is connected to your Mac and not the Virtual Machine.

I have another client that use images of Windows 7 and a scanner USB redirection works brilliantly, but they do not have a USB printer.

    Any ideas?

OK, someone internally here just mentioned to me that some Teradici customers only use the USB 1.1 specification and some printers require the specification USB 2.0 to function properly.

If you happen to have a printer USB 1.1 lying around you could try it instead to see if this will work... no promises, just thought that I would pass it along!

  • Impossible to install the driver Windows 7 for my Canon MF4150 USB printer and scanner-worked in XP

Original title: Windows 7 x 64 Windows printer problems is not able to resolve

The scanner and my Canon MF4150 USB printer was working fine with my Windows XP computer.

I got a new computer with Windows 7 x 64 OS and I can't get the printer to work.

I downloaded the printer driver specified for Windows 7 x 64.

The installation program is not accepted as I get a message that the resource file are not available.

I then added the printer manually without success.

The strange thing is that it shows in devices and printers but nothing prints.

Initially, it has the usual green check that the default printer then becomes a warning sign yellow when I try to print.

Right-click on the printer and select "Printer properties" and select "Canon MF4100 series UFRII LT" in the SUP menu if it exists, this name may be different in your machine. After the Properties window shows tab select the 'Port '. change the port to another USB port (the one that the printer is connected to), and then apply the changes. Your problem should be solved.

    I hope this helps
  • Cannot access windows temp file .pdf Creator to function or install USB printer

    Nice day

I was pulling my hair out on this one, please help!

This is a new PC installed with windows 7 basic

I haven't installed a physical printer via USB, no problem, then tried to install a PDF Creator to send statements of a rental program. Installation and opening the .pdf Creator program, I get an error that it doesn't have permission to open the temp folder. I then also tried to install a second printer via USB but constantly receive the message not recognized USB device! and the printer cannot be found or installed. The PDF Creator should create a printer under printers but it hasent. I was convinced after having scoured the forums that the two issues were related and had to do with - user account control settings - unfortunately after countless did stop it no chance neither will work.

    I tried the following

    • restarted the countless number of times disconnecting the pc
    • Turned UAC works with restarts in the meantime and attempt to install creator .pdf and the second usb printer install with this setting turned on and off with no luck.
    • checked the registry entry for the UAC sure he was totally disabled
    • verified that the second USB Samsung printer is 100% compatible with windows 7
    • downloaded the latest installation of creator .pdf files
    • cancelled all windows 7 updates with a system restore
    • uninstall all USB drivers who then reinstalled on reboot.
    • Tried to manually add the Samsung printer using Add Printer

I am now at a loss and am convinced that the two problems are related. Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you

    Hi molon,.

    ·        What is the model number of the printer?

    ·        Did you follow the guidelines in accordance with the installation guide supplied with the printer?

    To refine the question

Try to use the USB port to which the first HP printer was connected to the Samsung printer.

To check if it's a bad USB cable unplug the USB cable from the printer HP to work and plug this USB cable into one of the other printers to determine if it will recognize and install.

  • Tecra A8: Problem with the USB printer connected to the Port Replicator III

    Hi all

I have a problem with my Tecra A8, year Advanced Port Replicator III and a USB printer. With the printer connected to a USB port on the Port Replicator, I have to wait 2 minutes for printing to start. When it is connected directly to a USB port on the laptop and the laptop disconnected from the Port, printing starts immediately. I have the latest drivers from the Isensys of Canon LBP 2900 installed and Windows Vista professional as the operating system.

I called the technical support of my country, but her is not recorded similar problems.

A person with similar problem? Some help would be very appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Seems like a strange question... Already done the standard procedure in the event of such errors? :)

The standard procedure is somehow similar to the following:

    -Update your BIOS
-Update all the drivers for your machine
    -Update your printer drivers
    -Update your operating system

If all else fails, then try an another Portrep if available, maybe you need to contact your dealer for an another portrep for the test.

Something like this should be your way. And then you sucessfully made a TROUBLESHOOTIN´ ;)

I'd be happy to hear feedback from you on your situation...

    Welcome them

  • Two Roaming PC (domain) must share a USB printer.

    Hallo all

I have two PCs that need to share a USB printer.

PC 1: Win 7 Pro, roaming profiles user (domain)
PC2: Win XP Pro, roaming profiles user (domain)

These two PC will be used out of the site and will not be connected to the domain. Users must use their domain user name and password.

What group policies must be configured to allow the sharing of files and a printer USB between two PCs, when off site?

With workgourps, it is simpler, but because I'm not the domain administrator I don't know if there could be actions prevention policies...

  • How to use computer + handset USB printer as a "bluetooth printer.

My computer is configured with a USB printer and a bluetooth adapter, so I thought I should be able to use this combination as a "bluetooth printer" for my cell phone.

I can do this by changing the settings on the vista bluetooth stack? Or this will require something more complex?

  • Can't get HP 2100 M configured as USB printer

Recently, I upgraded my systey (Dell, Vista 64-bit) and can't get my HP 2100 M laser printer configured correctly.  The new system has only USB ports, no connection to printer port, so I went thr cable to a USB/parallel printer cable.

Vista does not recognize the device.  That is, the plug and play is not can not confiugre the printer correctly.

I downloaded the latest drivers from HP HP and point to them during installation.  Installs the printer, but not properly because it does not work.

After installation, a few times when I do a Print Test Page, the page just sets in the queue of the printer, and a few times the page disappears.

When I do an add printer, there is no "Virtual printing Port for USB" port to connect the printer to.

Any ideas or suggestions.  These USB cables are all the same.  I had to run once (do not know how or why), but now, not at all.  I spent 2 days trying to get it configured.

    Ron in Round Rock

Are you sure that the printer is compatible with your version of Vista http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-vista/ and that you use the correct drivers?

Most likely the driver for the USB parallel cable is not installed correctly. Go to your device manager, find the cable to printer USB, right click and uninstall. Then, unplug the USB cable and install the drivers before plugging back in. Then plug, you should get the ToolTip "new hardware found" and be in good shape (at least for cable).

You can't add a printer to a UsB printer - it should automatically detect and guide you through the installation process without requiring you need to select a port (it will do so automatically).  I suspect that the problem is the cable and once you set, the installation of the printer will run smoothly.  USB devices are generally very easy to install because of this.  Then again, you get to install (although I don't know correctly) so I wonder f it may really be the cable - but we'll see).

I hope this helps.  Keep me in the loop.

  • How can I get my USB printer doesn't work?

I am trying to install a Dell 3000cn laser printer in my computer. He started by putting a virtual printer in my control panel that would not print it had nothing on the Hardware tab, under its properties and real hardware was still on the list of unknown devices in the bottom.  I removed both and removed the driver and tried to install the printer before I plugged it in which does the same thing as before so I went into the Device Manager and there was no printer listed. I've uninstalled the usb printer support and removed everything that are associated and tried. Now I get support of usb error has a printer driver problem.

I tried to support the customer of Dell they got hung up, I tried Windows customer, they want me to pay.
I've exhausted the research online and can't find 5 people with the same question online all back in 2008 to 2010 which was never resolved.

How can I get the USB printer to work?

Generally, printers do not appear in Device Manager.  You will see, however, registrations for "IEEE 1284.4 devices ' or ' IEEE 1284.4 compatible printer" in particular for HP printers.  It is possible that your Dell printer is really a re-badged HP.

What exactly did you delete when you have uninstalled the "usb printer support '?

Please provide the full error message text that you do when this error.

Why do you think you had a 'virtual' printer is installed?

Click Start, click devices and printers.  What are the items in the category 'printers and faxes '?

Did you download the driver appropriate for your version of Windows (including 32-bit or 64 - bit) from here--> http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/dell-3000cn/drivers?

Did you follow these installation instructions:

    2. click on continue.
3 specify the location where to unzip the files.
