  Whenever you back up the encrypted files, you must back up the certificates. Without certificates, the files cannot be decrypted/used.

  Hello everyone, I am in a desperate situation and I need your help. Here is my sitatuaion.

  I have 13-inch MacBook Pro (early 2011). I put an SSD inside as my main drive and I also put an extra drive (HDD) in the optibay instead of my drive superdrive. The structure, I had was this:

  (1) my entire SSD was my OS X disk.

  2 my HDD optibay had three partitions: partition backup Time Machine, a) b) Extra partition (for stuff like media), c) Windows partition with Windows 7 installed.

  Had that Setup for a long time and everything worked very well, my SSD has been saved on the Time Machine partition on the HARD drive in my optibay.

  Then, I decided to turn on the File Vault 2. First of all I did for the SSD with my OS X on it. Everything went well and I could always start my Windows 7. Then, I decided to encrypt my Time Machine backup (because what's the point to encrypt the main system disk if you do not encrypt the backup as well?) -Here too everything went well.

  In other words, until I needed to start Windows. I have restarted my Mac, hold down option, the picker contraption came, but there was no windows to the choice. I came once before (but), so I knew I could always start in it.

  I jumped into my USB thumbdrive with fairing on it, he chose and he gave my start on the Windows partition option. But this time it did not work, I got an error message saying my there is no bootable device or something like that.

  I have confidence in turning the things of encryption for the partition of Time Machine (which is on the same HDD as my Windows partition) screwed disc here.

• Encryption issues

  I have a virtual machine that is the use of HD encryption within the guest and uses not encryption work stations 7.  I would like to be able to password protect the VM as when using the workstation AES encryption so I was going to do a test and quantify the already invited encrypted vm using the workstation, but it seems that you cannot encrypt an already invited encrypted vm.  I was wondering if anyone knew if I first VMware encrypt a vm I would then be able to also software to encrypt the comments too.  This 'double encryption"will cause problems?

  Comments encryption software is a must for me because my virtual machine requires two factor/token to start.  The reason why I want to encrypt 'double' is because I want that protection may not be able to take a snapshot or to a vm paused without authentication.  It is a way to simply password protect the virtual machine to not allow all functions to changes or CV/return parameters?

  It should not be.  Encrypt the entire VM is agnostic of the content of the virtual computer; We do not know if the guest encrypted its partitions or files.

  I can't see my internet connections for my WIFI. I can be downloaded on laptops and other devices.

  At first I could just turn off and on and it would work. Then I disabled and re-enable the Qualcom Atheros Ethernet. Now, nothing works.

  I tried to download the WLAN on this Web site. It still does not work. Not sure if I downloaded it correctly. I found the files, but the exe is from 2013.

I tried 10.0.1.1 and 192.168.1.1 and nothing comes up. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem recently. I will be eventually provided to the factory settings and set it back up like that, but I'm hoping to exhaust my options before you go this route. Any ideas?

I noticed that my DNS suffix changed to a different address, which is the ISP instead of my router. I put 2 and 2 together and realized that my network was overlaps sound via the Powerline. I have never set up an encryption key on the Powerline online so it was still using the default settings and connecting to my neighbors by current carrier. When I added the encryption key, the problem disappeared and my network returned to normal. Next time I should follow the instructions when setting up new network equipment. Oops

• Smartphone blackBerry Storm performance issues (and suggestions)

  I want to start and say that I don't like my phone.  When it works (which is most of the time), it works fine.

  But there are certainly problems of software.  As a software engineer, the OS has some memory serious management problems.  This seems to cause most of the problems I'm having with the phone.  I'm running the latest Verizon S/W (v4.7.0.148).

  Problem #1:

  I am a paranoid person.  There are a lot of personal information on my phone, I have currently international calls helped that I need this feature.  So to protect me my phone is locked when it is the case or after a period of inactivity time.  It is a good practice.  Part of the draw to the fate of the Blackberry is the security that you can configure on the device (I'm not paranoid enough to allow all the protections of encryption - yet).  Problem of the storm is that it can take 1 to 5 minutes to get the phone unlocked when unholstering.  It is not an exaggeration.  As the performance of the memory gets worse, time takes more time.  If I had to make an emergency call, it could be the difference between life and death.  5 minutes is a long time to wait to call 911.  This must be corrected!

  Problem #2:

  The phone must be "reset" once a day to remember "lost."  It is just poor programming.  I don't know if this problem of BB OS or Apps I'm running, but in both cases, this isn't fair.  After the reboot if I go to the display of memory under options I could have about 3-5 MB of free memory.  After a few hours of use, this will almost always '0 '.  I installed MemoryUp Pro, which seems to have extended the period of time between the battery grips, but I still don't think we should ask all owners of BB Storm to pull there battery once a day.  The other answer I get is "do not run so many Apps.  I get all my applications when finished.  Are the only ones that I continue to turn: Blackberry Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk and Google Maps (Latitude).  Other applications running, you can't get out (phone, browser).  I tried doesn't work is not the 'optional' tricks and performance has not really much better.

  I hope that the developers of RIM are trying to solve some of these performance issues.  Certain tasks should be a higher priority as they seem to have (like phone & Unlock).

  There is no way to convert a self-signed certificate in a certificate signed by a root CA.  In addition, simply by adding a certificate in a particular area of the crypto shop does not change its abililties.  The trust root certification authorities certificates must be issued by approved certification.  Add your own cert to the store zone does not trust.

• iBooks/iCloud problem: all the books transformed into "encrypted files".

  I recently downloaded all my iBook (files PDF and epub files) on the iCloud / iDrive with the iBook on my iPad app. Many worked for awhile, but when I tried to use iBooks after a few weeks of inactivity, none of my downloaded iBooks were visible in iBooks. I looked in the iDrive and there is a section of iBooks, that seems to have all my old iBook (15 GB) files, but each file appears as "Encrypted File". I have no idea on how to decrypt these files so that I can use them again.

  The iBooks interface displays only the empty shelves.

  I don't know what triggered this loss of all my books. Anyone have an idea how I could recover my books?

  Overall, I must say that I am very disappointed with the whole iCloud / iDrive system. It took an eternity to download files, the data transfer is extremely slow and I'm not even able to download iBooks from my PC to the iCloud. I have much better experiences with Google Drive or Dropbox, which operate in a transparent way through everything, platform. I guess that the iCloud / iDrive works only in an all-Apple configuration

  I have the same problem too, all my files epub in the ibooks app disappeared after I have sync my iphone on icloud drive and when I checked the ibooks on my icloud storage it appears as "encrypted file.

  Sounds like a Windows problem, not an iTunes one. Do not encrypt files unless they need. You add an access memory load data within a treatment and run the risk that you cannot recover the data if the operating system crashes into the keys with him.   No I don't have this problem.

  If you do not know your iTunes backup encryption, then you won't be able to use it.
