Direct transmission of HPGL to USB printer

I wrote a few programs using Delphi who send HPGL commands directly to the printer.  It was easy when printers is generally connected to the parallel port and languages usually provided an output device identifier "LPT1".  To write HPGL directely on a USB device apparently requires calls to the Win32 API.  I don't have the required documents.  Do you have a 'model' to bypass the spooler in Windows to save directly to a printer on a USB port?

I managed to fix this myself over the weekend.  I can now send PCL5 and HPGL escape code directly to any printer that it is connected via USB or parallel port.  My code is written in Delphi from Codegear (Borland).  If you want a copy of the code, email me at [email protected].  If you don't use Delphi, you will have to translate the code snippets using what ever you use.  The code is to make calls to the Win32 API.

    Hi all

I have a problem with my Tecra A8, year Advanced Port Replicator III and a USB printer. With the printer connected to a USB port on the Port Replicator, I have to wait 2 minutes for printing to start. When it is connected directly to a USB port on the laptop and the laptop disconnected from the Port, printing starts immediately. I have the latest drivers from the Isensys of Canon LBP 2900 installed and Windows Vista professional as the operating system.

I called the technical support of my country, but her is not recorded similar problems.

A person with similar problem? Some help would be very appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Seems like a strange question... Already done the standard procedure in the event of such errors? :)

The standard procedure is somehow similar to the following:

    -Update your BIOS
-Update all the drivers for your machine
    -Update your printer drivers
    -Update your operating system

If all else fails, then try an another Portrep if available, maybe you need to contact your dealer for an another portrep for the test.

Something like this should be your way. And then you sucessfully made a TROUBLESHOOTIN´ ;)

I'd be happy to hear feedback from you on your situation...

  • DeskJet 2540: cannot convert mac wireless usb printer

    Hello

I'm having a problem setting my printer all-in-one Deskjet 2540 on my macbook (osx El Capitan). After basic implementation through usb connection, I was able to connect my printer to my router, which makes possible wireless printing. I was then able to print wireless from my phone using remote control all-in-one app.

However, I now want my macbook to establish a wireless connection to the printer instead of the usb connection that is used for configuration. I can't find the option to convert a usb printer to a printer that is connected to the wifi. When disconnecting from usb, laptop computer notes the connection with the printer is lost. To install my printer, I use the HP Utility software, in which I can't find such an option. Also, when passing through Apple-> system-> printers and scanners preferences I can't find an option "convert to wireless. I also read a method via Finder-> applications-> HP and then an icon for installing the software & should be there? In my case, there is only the HP Utility icon which directs me to the same program in which I could not find the option.

What I was looking for, and where can I find it?

Might be a little exaggerated description, but I hope that this makes it extremely clear...

    Hello

With Docking Station, you can connect all the cables for printer, keyboard and mouse, adapter directly to the charging station.

So whenever you use a laptop, you have just dock the laptop on the docking station and not need to re connect all cables again.

This will help you when you move frequently with the laptop.

Docking station will save your time, outside any other aspect, that it has to offer.

  • USB printer not detected on satellite series?

    Hello

Have a laptop Toshiba Equium and today I bought a printer from a different manufacture.
USB cable is not supplied with the printer (not good things) and so had to buy a.

Laptop does not accept the USB cable saying something like USB isn't signwritten with the laptop?
I have no idea what has happened?

I'm sure that the printer is 100% and the USB's all nine... the majority of the facility took place until this problem is with the USB
The laptop never had a printer connected before in 18 months of ownership.

    Any help!

    Thank you

    Hello

First of all, you must make sure that you bought a straight cable and which is compatible with the laptop.
    My sister uses a USB printer and the cable that she bought looks like this;

    [USB 2.0 printer cable | http://images.tigerdirect.com/skuimages/large/C184-4000_U_6-main.jpg]

But the note man; You should check this printer installation instructions.
Sometimes the driver (shipped with the printer) must be installed before you connect the printer to the computer!

What you could do to first remove the USB ports, controllers from Device Manager and reboot the laptop.
After restarting again the USB ports must be installed again.

After this short stage, you continue with the installation of the printer described in the manual!

    Good bye

  • Two Roaming PC (domain) must share a USB printer.

    Hallo all

I have two PCs that need to share a USB printer.

PC 1: Win 7 Pro, roaming profiles user (domain)
PC2: Win XP Pro, roaming profiles user (domain)

These two PC will be used out of the site and will not be connected to the domain. Users must use their domain user name and password.

What group policies must be configured to allow the sharing of files and a printer USB between two PCs, when off site?

With workgourps, it is simpler, but because I'm not the domain administrator I don't know if there could be actions prevention policies...

    Thank you in advance,

    Hi Chris,

Since you are facing problems with the systems in domain, it would be better suited in the Windows Technet Forum. Please post your question in the following TechNet forum to improve assistance:

  • USB, print on XP machines!

Trying to install a new printer Lexmark... cannot communicate with the computer using the USB cable. The computer is under XP SP3 and is not so old. I tried to disable the enhanced USB port PCI card and the only thing that did was to knock out the Internet connection... who uses USB to connect. I tried tons of other things listed on various forums and nothing. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

OK, after a lot of grief, I managed to pinpoint the problem. I disabled the firewall and full (after turning off without success), uninstalled the antivirus. After a reboot it automatically installed the USB printer port... then I could install the printer and print without any problems. I then reinstalled the antivirus software and Firewall enabled and rebooted. After restarting the computer came with a blank screen with just the blinking cursor. So now that it is narrowed down, tomorrow I'll try to disable the Microsoft Firewall and restart to see what is happening. If the printer still does not work, I'll uninstall Antivirus completely and reboot first to make sure that the printer works... If it works... I will try to install a different antivirus product and see what happens. I'm sure that this issue will be resolved in half an hour.

    Thanks for your replies!

The EA3500 is on the firmware: 1.1.38.138880

I use Mountain Lion, I really appriciate if someone can help me understand this, thanks in advance

Confirm that 10.8.2beta has fixed cisco VUSB, I can now connect my printer to my EA3500 for printing

  • Connect USB printer to E4200

    Hello

I think I discovered that you cannot currently connect a usb printer to the usb port on the e4200 to share it on the network.

However I have heard that this could be facilitated reports may be activated in the spring.

I've also heard of "virtual usb", but I don't know if this has anything to do with it.

Anyone can shed some light on this?

Receive word of USB print support will build on the next firmware update. Until then, we'll just have to wait.
